I've often wondered why Autumn brings a shift on my inner compass to find, embrace or start something new? Is it the conditioning of basic education when the school year always began in September? Or, is it something more? I have long been out of school and yet that feeling to make changes at this time of the year, whatever they are, is strongest. It also appears to be a time to determine what to keep and what to release, whether it's changing up the wardrobe, cleaning out drawers or examining and letting go of beliefs, ways of thinking or doing things, patterns. Moving into Fall brings change. Have you found this, too?
Over my lifetime, this seasonal pattern has remained the same, with Fall the most dramatic. Some may argue that each season brings physical change to our environment of which I would agree. But it is now, when the leaves are changing colour and falling, that the deeper calling to make a special space for new thoughts, actions, or things, it happens. Sometimes it comes as a whisper or as gentle as a feather brushed upon my skin; other times, it is like an ache. Winter brings that coziness, warmth, and comfort space where we settle in to mull, think about, ponder, birth new ideas and projects that often initiate in Spring. Summer sees the products of our effort, but it is in Autumn when the clearing and releasing work is done.
Reiki is not dissimilar to Autumn. This gentle yet powerful Japanese technique releases toxins, built up or blocked energy in the body returning it back to harmony and balance. It is when the latter is achieved that in the special space that Reiki creates then fills with refined energy where healing takes place. It turn, it leads to a harmonious state of well-being and clear decisions can be made. In other words, Reiki leads to self-healing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
The effects of Reiki on the physical level by relieving energy blockages, releasing pain and promoting self-healing brings about a physical sense of relief and deep relaxation. Stress is released. On the emotional level, now with a calm and peaceful mind, Reiki can help a person to observe negative thoughts and patterns which need attention for change. This helps making a decision of whether or not one wishes to "stay in the 'old' story" much easier. The emotional level is affected by being in a state of calm; one can then recognize which emotions need to transformed, positively. The result can be more compassion, love, kindness, and the ability to share of oneself. Lastly, Reiki, because it can be used for self-healing, affects spiritual well-being by not only deepening love and compassion for self but for others. The benefits of this beautiful healing energy are softness of the heart, grace, love and peacefulness.
A difference from Autumn, the cycle of seasons, and their changes is that Reiki's healing changes can occur at any time one chooses. When one's heart hears the call for healing, Reiki, as a catalyst of change, can be activated, resulting in an enriched and enhanced way of life and simply, a lovely way of being.
Wish you the blessings of a Reiki Autumn
